1000 Ways To Die Wiki

"Cruci-fried", Way to Die #704, is the third death featured in "Young, Dumb, and Full of Death", which aired on November 9, 2010.

Plot[]

A phony miracle healing minister named Perry is seen bribing actors to "heal" them during his ceremonies, clearly using his pastor position to make money rather than any religious calling. He also has a metal tub for his "baptism" ceremonies. Prior to the service, he removes the ground connector from a three-pronged electrical plug to a microphone to get rid of an annoying hum emitting from the PA system. During the service, he steps into the metal baptismal tub and picks up the microphone, inadvertently completing the current due to the lack of the ground connector and is immediately and fatally electrocuted. As he falls into the tub, 110 volts of electricity passed through his body and eventually results in the outcome as aforesaid, killing him despite his partner and mistress, Cammi, crying in sorrow.

Transcript[]

(what caused Perry's electrocution?)

Narrator: Before the service started...

Perry: (bothered by the annoying hum) Uh, you can hear that, huh?

Narrator: Perry noticed an annoying hum coming out of the PA system.

(Perry disconnected the three-pronged electrical plug from the PA system, much to Cammi's disbelief)

Narrator: He fixed it by cutting off the ground connector on the plug.

(Perry did just that)

Perry: I got it.

(cuts to Perry in the baptismal tub where his electrocution is shown again)

Narrator: When he stepped into the tub and picked up the microphone, 110 volts of God's righteous power raced through his unholy flesh, stopped his heart, and sent his soul straight to Hell.

(cuts to the CGI recreation of the skeleton representing Perry being electrocuted in the baptismal tub)

Dr. Pavel Bindra:

(Recap, [] is playing)

Narrator: Perry promised salvation, but sold his followers a false bill of goods.

(Music Box Death is playing)

Narrator: But in the end, he finally...saw the light.

Cammi: (voice breaks) Oh, no, Perry!

Trivia[]

  • Based on the death of Stone The Crows guitarist Leslie Harvey.
  • Franklin Ruehl, who was interviewed in Booby-Zapped, Cult Evaded, and Reef Stew, appears in this segment as an elderly man whom Perry does a "miracle" on by helping him walk by himself. He also appeared in Dead On Arrival.
  • In the European Spanish and German dubs, it shares the number 104.
  • Perry's death is similar to that of Petunia's death in Happy Tree Friends TV series episode, "Home is Where the Hurt Is".
  • This death takes place 23 years before Just Plane Dead, 30 years before Succu Offed, 32 years before Handi-crapped (212) And 33 years before Ghost Busted.
  • This is most likely based on the death of Kyle Lake, where he was electrocuted on October 30, 2005, as he stepped into baptismal waters and reached out to adjust a microphone.
  • The line "there will be no resurrecting this con artist" would be (possibly) referenced in Homie's Dead, in the doggerel of the real version of the end of the segment.

Foreign Names[]

  • Crucifrito (Crucifried) - Latin American Spanish dub
