"Hang Dunked", Way to Die #284, is the sixth death to be featured in "The End is Weird", which aired on October 19, 2010.

Plot[]

An egotistical bully named Rodney White hogs a basketball game. Rodney plays a match with a couple of the players and does a slam dunk after kicking one of the players in the groin and using him like a platform. To rub his feet in the other players faces, he put his head through the basket gloating all his glory until they demanded to continue playing in hopes of putting Rodney in his place. However, as he drops down, his necklace gets caught in the net and acts like a noose, Rodney broke his neck and in 20 seconds as he died, sending this so-called pro-baller and egotistical bully to hell where he deserves.

Transcript[]

(80s Hip Hop Mess, players play basketball)

Narrator: Headbands, high socks, tiny shorts. No, this isn't a bad dream, this was 80's basketball.

(Rodney rides his BMX to the basketball court)

Narrator: Patrolling the streets on a stolen kid's bike, Rodney White was a one-man dream team. At least... in his own tiny head.

(Master of Death is playing)

Rodney: Time out, time out! You're injured.

(Rodney kicks out the white street baller)

Narrator: Rodney was a loudmouth bully who gotten kicked out of every pickup game in town.

Rodney: Let's go, let's go! I'm team captain!

Narrator: But he was always able to find another bunch of ballers he could work his ling jivane.

Rodney: Crush, grow up!

(Massive Hip Hop Sex is playing)

Jude "Hollywood" Thomas: Players who talk a lot, trash, you know I'm the king, pack it up, that's one of the main issues in basketball. There's a cult of conduct on the court, guy like Rodney, who talk trash and don't really have ball skills, push him up away, make him not come back anymore.

(Police Chase Death is playing)

Narrator: Rodney's favorite move was something he called...

(Rodney's move is to slap someone else's testicles hard and fast, [] is playing)

Narrator: 'The Nutcracker'.

Rodney: Haa! (Whooping)

(Rodney jumps on the nutcracked player, makes his own dunk, satisfied. [] is playing)

Rodney: Haha...!

Narrator: The showboating creep hung from the rim,

(Rodney lifts himself in the net ring)

Narrator: lording it over the others,

Rodney: (Laughs)

Street Baller: Keep down, let's play ball!

-Rodney: Alright!
-Narrator: until...

(Once Rodney releases his hands, he forgot about his necklace that got caught in the net, he's chocking, [] is playing, the ballers are surprised)

Narrator: he dropped. And his necklace became a noose.

(Andrew Kubiszewski's pilot score is playing)

Dr. Ramon Cestero: If someone is hung, there's significant amount of force that's generated in the neck,

(CGI human is choked and panics, the necklace tears the larynx and the cervical spine)

Dr. Ramon Cestero: as he falls and then he stops, causing compression or...severing the cervical spine. Without that, the patient stops breathing and dies.

(Replay of Rodney releases his hands, hanging himself)

Narrator: His neck snapped, and within 20 seconds, he was dead.

(Recap of Rodney plays rudely basketball, Innocent Death is playing)

Narrator: Rodney was a bully on the court

Rodney: That's a foul, man!

(Rodney dunks)

Narrator: who couldn't even jump worth a damn.

Rodney: Haha...!

(Rodney releases his hands, hanging himself)

Narrator: But at least in the end, he got some great hang time.

  • This death shares its number with Mail Order Fried, which is also the sixth death in its own respective episode.
  • Rodney's death is similar to that of Flaky's death in Happy Tree Friends web series episode: "Hide and Seek".
  • This is one of the three deaths that are shown in the segment Die-rect TV. The others are Crash-endo and Vom-Ate-Dead.
  • Coincidentally, Rodney White is the name of a former NBA player who played for three NBA teams, as well as basketball teams in Spain, Italy, Israel, Puerto Rico, and South Korea. However, the real Rodney White was only five years old when this death happened.
  • This death is slightly similar to Liz's death in Strang-girled as they both involve the person dieing after there necklace gets caught on an item (For Rodney it was a basketball hoop net and for Liz it was a neck massager) strangling them to death.
  • The NBA banned chains and necklaces in 1980 for a similar reason.
  • This is one of many death's where the Interviewee mentions the victim by name
  • This death takes place 20 years before Clay Achin'.
