"Sun Burnt", Way to Die #631, is the seventh and final death to be featured in "Locked and Low Dead", which aired on February 29, 2012.
Plot[]
Lionel (Alex Sanborn) is a sociopathic geek and prankster who creates a death ray from a parabolic dish and a lot of tin foil. Lionel waits until the sun's highest peak to test out his death ray, successfully burning a toy soldier, a grasshopper, a butterfly, and also burning his neighbor's hand after tricking him to put it in the sun's direction. Lionel then puts a can of beans in the beam's direction while singing the bean song, causing it to explode. The force of the explosion knocks Lionel unconscious, causing him to fall onto the cinder block platform with the back of his head facing the death ray. This causes the beam to melt the back of his skull and soon his brain, sending this wannabe murderer straight to hell where he will not be able to kill anymore.
Transcript[]
Narrator: Lionel was the kind of kid who enjoyed pulling wings off flies. Now that he's matured nicely into a geeky, anti-social misfit, he still wants to kill things.
Lionel: This is going to be killer.
Narrator: The homemade mad scientist came up with a design for a solar ray, that would put the burn on anything he aimed at.
Lionel: ...for I am Prometheus and I give you fire.
Narrator: Using a parabolic dish covered with heavy-duty tinfoil, the sun's rays would focus into a laser-like beam of destruction.
Lionel: (laughs maniacally)
Narrator: Lionel waits until high noon, to test out his weapon on top of his apartment building. He starts out with a toy soldier, who quickly goes into meltdown. Then the twisted sadist turns it on the insect world. First a grasshopper, then a butterfly get toasted.
Neighbor: Hey Buddy!
Narrator: A visit from a curious neighbor gives Lionel the chance to test it on a human.
Lionel: Feels really good, man. I was just doing it. It's totally awesome. Right there.
Neighbor: OW!
Lionel: You're so stupid!
Narrator: All this killing and burning has made Lionel hungry.
Lionel: Beans, beans, the musical fruit. The more you eat-
(The can of beans explodes and splashes into Lionel's face)
Lionel: Whoa!
(He trips on the spilled beans, knocking himself unconscious)
Narrator: He never was much of a chef. But what's that smell? Something's still cooking. Oh, it's Lionel. Homie's weapon focused the sun to a sizzling 6,000 degrees. When Lionel got knocked out with his head in it's path, it was like running a molten piece of steel right through his brain. After two minutes, it exploded his arteries, and destroyed a fatal amount of brain tissue. He went from brain dead to dead dead.
(Recap, Bittersweet Ending is playing)
Narrator: Lionel thought killing things was fun. But in the end, we got to have all the fun... watching him die.
